Oh Scrap! : SoScrappy and RSC16

Every Sunday, scraps are the highlight here on this blog.  Lots of scrappy projects are shared by scrappy quilters from all over this great planet.  But I still get comments that there are many of you that say you just don't know how to get started on sewing your scraps.

Well, I have the perfect motivation for you to get started.  Are you familiar with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge that Angela over at SoScrappy hosts every year?  I think it is a great way to keep you sewing with your scraps a bit each month and at the end of the year, you have enough blocks to complete a rainbow quilt.

I am not going to go into the specifics as Angela has written up a great post with everything you need to know about how the Rainbow Scrap Challenge works.
Believe me, she makes sewing up those scraps so easy!

What I personally appreciate about the Rainbow Scrap Challenge is I get to pick my block, I get to decide how many blocks I make each month and I get to decide how my quilt looks in the end.  I can make the blocks as difficult or as easy as I want and I can plan a large or a small quilt.
I really do hope you join in on the fun!

I ended up making two quilts with the blocks I made in 2015.  I only had to spend about an hour a month to sew my blocks....Easy Peasy!

And remember you can link your projects up with Angela for Scrap Happy Saturday and share your posts here on Oh Scrap! on Sundays!

**********************************

Now it is time to link up and share what scrappy projects you have worked on this week.  Here are the details for linking up:
  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

I love your nine patches! Nine patches are one of my favorite blocks, and combining bright colors with b/w prints always makes me smile.
And I love the RSC, too. I'm really happy with my rainbow Ohio stars, and I know that I never would have made them without Angela's inspiration.

Your rainbow scrap quilt is very pretty. I'm tempted to join in the process in 2016.
