I am so happy to announce I am finally releasing another pattern.
This one is called Spin!
This pretty blue and white one I made using half yard cuts but it is also designed to use scraps. As you can see, even the border is pieced!
I really have a soft spot in my heart for two colored quilts. And I love taking a traditional block and putting a new spin on it. In this case, I did that literally!
My original quilt was made in red and light gray. It is a perfect pattern for a confident beginner or the seasoned quilter. The pattern has clear instructions and diagrams to help ensure success. The reason this pattern has taken so long is I have been working with a graphic artist and now it is professionally formatted so I can start getting it out to stores soon.
Just like I have done with all of my patterns, I have created a Spin! Pinterest board sharing quilts made using this pattern. It is a great place to see how others are using my patterns!
As you can see, I have gone a little crazy and started making one in every color!
If you would like to buy this pattern, it is available as a pdf download through my Etsy shop or through my Payhip Pattern Store. To celebrate, I thought I would put all of my patterns on sale through Sunday May 1st - including this Spin! pattern. So this weekend is a great time to grab those patterns because sometime Monday, they will be increased to their regular price.
And what is a pattern release without a giveaway! You can win your own pdf copy of the pattern (I will credit you back if you have already purchased it) and to get you started, I will send you a half yard of two Kona solids.
You can choose Kona Ash and Kona Navy...
...or you can pick Kona Lipstick to go with the Kona Ash.
I would have a hard time choosing between these colors.
There are two ways to enter. 1) The first is to just leave me a comment letting me know which Kona combination you would like to win. 2) For an additional entry, help me share this new pattern. Pin it, tweet it, share it on your Facebook - however you want to help me spread the word is fine by me. Then just leave a comment letting me know how you shared it. I really do appreciate it!
International readers are welcome to enter BUT, due to high shipping costs, I may not be able to ship the fabrics. I will just need to play it by ear. But if you should win, I will still send you a .pdf of any or even all of my patterns.
Please make
sure you’re not a no-reply commenter (or leave an email
address in your comment if you’re not sure). You cannot win if I cannot get a hold of you!
The giveaway will end on Sunday May 1st at 9 pm PST.
Good Luck!

Oh Cynthia! This is such a great design! I so love it! You have been busy, all three color combinations are beautiful. Congrats on this one...perfection! I'll play along, I love the Ash and Lipstick combination. The possibilities are endless with fabrics! Spin...really perfect!
I had to share it on Pinterest!
Love it! Gotta have it! Will order soon. Already thinking about what fabric(s) to use. The blue combo would be my preference.
Beautiful design, Cynthia! Congratulations. :)
So beautiful! I'd love the the Navy and Ash combination.
I like the lipstick red

Wonderful pattern, Cynthia!!!!I just love it. . and wouldn't be able to choose between the colors either! Although I do have a bigger blue stash. . .would probably go with the navy. I just love the design!!
And I just posted on my facebook page :-)
Love the pattern! I've been intrigued by the idea of log cabins as curves ever since I first saw one but haven't been brave enough to try it yet. I would love to make one in the red/grey colorway.
I have pinned your quilt to my "quilting inspiration" board.
Oh, that is a fantastic pattern!! Love it!
(I'm working on picturing it scrappy - like I need another idea running around in my head! *grin*)
Red is good. Red is almost orange, which is the perfect color. 8)
Wow....a beautiful pattern! I love the ash/navy combo.
Oh, I like this one! Congratulations on getting it all done for publication and sale! If I were to win your giveaway, I would choose the navy and ash. The navy is so useful and I've never had any ash.

I would definitely choose the Kona ash and Kona navy. Your pattern is beautiful.
Just purchased your Spin pattern, love it. I'll be sharing this as my first week purchase in the May Is For Makers Campaign. It will be on my blog on May 2. I love both the navy and the red, it would be hard to choose, but I think I will go with navy.
Great pattern. I like the navy and ash combination.

I pinned it!
Oh that is a tough choice! But I think I would go with the blue and ash.
Just when you think there is nothing new about a log cabin pattern, up pops another one. That design is soo cool. I'm leaning toward the blue and gray fabrics, but either one would be fun to work up. Congrats.

I love your cool and refreshing blue and white colors, so the blue and ash would be perfect to give it a try. I've been crushing on this design since you first revealed it and am thrilled you wrote up a pattern. Thank you!

I'm a navy girl through and through, so that's the color I would choose. Thanks for offering this giveaway!
Great pattern...really is a striking quilt. I would HAVE to choose the Lipstick and Ash combination. If you knew me you would know I keep one (lipstick, that is....lol) in my pocket, my purse, my car and even one in my bra most days. My grown children share a laugh about "Mom and her lipsticks". Thank you for the chance to win.
I shared on my Pinterest board and emailed my quilt guild members about it.
Love this design of the traditional log cabin. I choose the navy color. Thanks for the giveaway. Sena
Fantastic pattern. Love all 3! I would choose Kona Ash and Kona Navy.

I would like the red one. Thanks. It's a beautiful quilt and would be lovely whateve colors were chosen.
what a wonderful pattern, totally captivating, i would love to make it either in red, or maybe shades of green. hop[e i win one!!!!
Funny how an old pattern can turn "modern" with a little help from Cynthia. Great job, girl! Just beautifully done. I love this one, and not only because it is blue lol. You'd think I'd go with the navy and you would be wrong. I'd like lipstick if I win. The daughter of a friends loves red, black and grey. I'm sure she would love this pattern too. Thanks for the chance. Great pattern. ;^)
I've pinned it on my "Blue Quilts" page, on Pinterest, of course.

Love your Spin quilts! Should I win, I would choose the Lipstick with the Ash. My MIL loves red and I could make the Spin quilt in red for her.
Going with red (I think)! Both are great, but not much red in my house.
I love this arrangement of log cabin blocks with a twist. If I win, I'd like the red fabric package please, but I would probably use a mix of red fabrics with ash.
I've pinned both your blue and red versions in "Quilts".
I'm terrible at choosing red fabrics, so I would be thrilled to win the Lipstick!! Thanks for the chance.
I love this pattern! Thanks for the opportunity to win! I would choose the navy and ash pair.
I love this pattern! I would have a hard time choosing which color to use, and probably, like you, will end up doing multiple times. I think for my first one, I would do it in the navy and ash.
I pinned your pattern/picture on Pinterest :)
Gorgeous! You know I love patterns that look curved, but really aren't!
:) Kelly @ My Quilt Infatuation
I would love the navy! Thank you SO much for this wonderful giveaway and the chance to win!
I love this! A really great pattern. All color combos are great; I would pick the lipstick, since I haven't done a read quilt, but have done several in blues.
I pinned to my "quilts" board. I chose the photo with one of each color-I love seeing all those colors!
This is an amazing pattern. Such movement. I'd pick Lipstick. Congratulations.
I pinned both the red version and the blue version to my "heart, quilts" board. Love your gorgeous pattern and the movement it creates.
I really like the pattern. Nicely done.
Great quilt! Thanks for sharing.

Hi, I'm visiting from over at Lara's fun mini blog hop. Somehow I missed this post before. I love me a log cabin block, and I thought I had seen every way of setting them together, but this is certainly a new spin! I love it. I really like the two-color combination, but I'm sure there will be lots of variations on that, too. I bet Jayne was thrilled with her win!
Beautiful design Cynthia!
Lovely design. I like two color quilts as well. They simply resonate in their simplicity and confidence. Funny thing though, I don't know if I've ever made one for me! This pattern may be just the ticket.
