Oh Scrap! : I am on Scrap Control

My scrap bins over-floweth!

With the end of the year looming, I have been focused on finishing as many projects as I can. Once I finish a project, all the bits in the project box get put away.
Which means handfuls of scraps are stuffed into my color bins!

So this holiday weekend, I have been sorting, pressing and cutting up a bunch of scraps with my AccuQuilt fabric cutter.

I store my 2.5" squares in silverware trays sorted by color.  I am mostly focused on cutting up the odd shaped and older scraps.  I am teaching my Geese Migration quilt to a number of guilds starting in January - so having a bunch of pre-cut squares to share is always nice.

The greens are done, now it is on to the blues!

Want to take a class from me?  I would love to teach my Geese Migration quilt to your local quilt store, guild or sewing group.  Right now, I am focusing on just teaching in the PNW but it never hurts to check with me if there is an interest in your area.  You will look at scraps in a whole new way!

Time to share what you are making with your scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

More scrap quilts going on here than I can count at times - just the other day my daughter asked how many quilts was I making right now and I really had to stop and think!

What a great scrappy quilt. I recently purchased the flying geese die for my GO, so might need to try this.

You've just reminded me that I need to get back to Geese Migration (or in my case, Geese on the Move)! I think I have all the blocks made, just need to settle on sashing and a layout.

You have one of the best organizing methods for squares I've seen! They look so neat and tidy! Good luck with teaching...Migration would be the perfect quilt for a class!

Your picture is very inspiring to get my scraps cut! It looks like there is a paint chip between the colors - ingenious!

Your Geese Migration quilt is beautiful! I really like the idea of using a paint swatch with your scraps and sorting them by color!

I have the pattern for Geese Migration, but haven't had a chance to actually make it yet. It's a gorgeous quilt.
