Oh Scrap! : Sashing

I spent most of my time on Saturday quilting up my Improv Stripes quilt (which means I should have it finished to share on Friday).  But other than that, there hasn't been much time for sewing.

I did make a decision on how to handle my neutral strip sets.  I decided to add sashing in-between each set with a dark corner stone in the middle.  I did "flip" the strip set.  I thought it would balance out the color but I think it might not have been the best choice.  I am hoping it won't show as much when the top is finished.

I certainly am not changing my mind now!

Here are four completed blocks with the additional sashing I plan on adding.  Sorry about the poor photos but I am a night-time quilter and these neutrals are hard to capture with zero natural light.

Looking at these blocks now, I might have to go back and flip those strip sets around.  Looks like my seam ripper is going to get a workout.

What about you....What have you been making with your scraps!

I like the dark cornerstones and also the dark fabric that you have in there every now and then! This will be a great layout!

I love your blocks and I think they are perfect with the dark sashing squares in the middle. Once all of the blocks are sewn, there is going to be some nice movement. I can't wait to see the finish--I might make one also with all of the neutral scraps I have left.

You came up with something really fun for this 'neutrals' month - I really drew a blank.
But I can sure sing harmony to those seam-ripper blues. Seems like I've had it in my hand most of the month!

I think the sashing with the corner stones in a darker color is the perfect idea! You are so smart! Thank goodness for seam rippers...or maybe not! You'll figure it out...we are all counting on you!!

The blocks look great together! Try not to second guess yourself and leave the seam ripper at rest for a while.

I think they are fine as is. Once you have a quilt top's worth it might be less of an issue?
