Oh Scrap! : A Bit of Progress

I am not too sure where all the time went this week.
But I sure don't feel like I got a lot accomplished!

I have been slowly sewing up more flowers for my improv garden quilt.  These blocks do take a bit of time to sew - it is definitely not a speedy project.

And as a leader/ender project, I finished up five more blue log cabin blocks.

I did take the time to put my blocks back up on a design wall.  I think this will be the final layout.  Now I know I just need 15 more blue and three more green blocks to complete the design.

I hope to finish this one soon!

I really like your flower project, Cyndy - especially how you're connecting them with more green! I always figure a little bit of progress on something here and there will lead somewhere good in the long run - looks like you are heading somewhere really good with both of those. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Those flowers are time consuming indeed! But they are gorgeous and worth time time. You'll have the log cabin blocks knocked out in no time!

What a great use of your dark BLUE scraps, Cynthia!! Mixed with the green blocks, they absolutely sparkle. I believe something similar is in my future. If I could just weed through the backlog!!

These flowers are beautiful, I love the high contrast between them and the background.

wowie! Now I want to stop the presses and make a log cabin. Your improv blocks are so cool, so interesting and all the fabrics in the large one make the overall design deep and rich. I just love how it is coming out. Both of them. Great job! LeeAnna

Both projects are stunning! I agree that some improv takes much longer to create than traditional piecing. All it took was one try to realize it was not a shortcut.

I love the blue and green combination in the log cabin quilt.

(All I did for scraps this week was make more of them.)

I love how your garden is growing! See how all those greens mix it up in the most yummy way?

I so love your flowers. The darker centre makes them look more real, if that makes sense. Love your Log Cabin quilt too. Enjoy! ;^)

Hi, I was in your class in Grass Valley and I meant to ask you where you got the plastic bins that held your 2 1/2 in pieces. The three bins inside the larger ones.

Thanks, Judy Vaughn

Your flower project is so inspiring - love the colors - make me think of the calendula, nasturtiums, and other blooms in my garden right now> Thanks for sharing - love all your productivity (even tho it doesn't feel like much to you, it IS!)

Oooh -- I really like your log cabin quilt. And, the end is in sight. How big are your logs? I may want to copy your idea. (Remember copying is a sincere form of flattery...) On the other hand I really don't need any new projects! But I do like that log cabin.
