Oh Scrap! : Red

With September here, it is time to get out my red scraps for my RSC quilts.  I am down to just 2 active projects right now so I need to start thinking about some new designs.

I dug through all of my red scraps and then my solids stash and I could only come up with three shades of red.  I am hoping in upcoming months I can find or acquire a magenta solid so I can make one more blocks.  This is a longer term project so I have lots of time.

I am using 2" squares so my blocks are a little different than a traditional postage stamp block.  But the slightly larger size seems to be giving me the best yield out of my small scraps.

My sewing room is currently strewn with scraps as I am actively working on about 5 different projects.  And they all require different type of scraps.  I am hoping to get some serious sewing accomplished during the holiday weekend.

It is sure hard to believe it is already September!

Those are fun! I actually started working on a postage stamp block with 1.5 inch strips of red and 1.5 inch squares. That is labor intensive! It may be the only one I make - we'll see... Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

I hope you find another red for your blocks! Being a scrap quilter, I can only imagine what your sewing room looks like with 4-5 projects happening at once. But...I bet it's fun!

Great postage stamp blocks. They're looking great. Maybe you'll find some FQs of magenta in your LQSs in the Christmas and/or Valentine lines? Sometimes it's all in the hunt!
