Another RSC Finish

Usually in my quilt making process, the sewing together of blocks is my bottleneck.  But lately, the biggest stack has been those projects waiting for their bindings!

Today I am ready to share another Rainbow Scrap Challenge finish.  This one was made using 2" strips of varying lengths.  I trimmed up each block to 12" square.

When I placed the blocks, I turned them 90 degrees from the last so that I didn't have to match many seams.  I really love the look.

When I pulled the scraps for each block, I also tried to group color hues to make the blocks.

I have also fallen in love with a new wide backing.  These big dots work so well with these rainbow color block type quilts.  I probably have enough for a smaller lap quilt but I have already added more to my Connecting Threads cart for some future quilts.

The leaves are falling fast right now.  I had just raked this area the day before and it was raining when I went out for this photo.  So you get leaves with the quilt.

This one has been added to the donate pile.  The holidays will soon be upon us and I always like to send some off to a few organizations.  Hopefully all these happy colors will add some cheer!

I still have a few more quilted pieces in my "binding" pile so I will have lots to share in coming weeks.  It feels good to finish up so many of these projects!

The backing is so fun and perfect for the RSC quilt; I'm glad Connecting Threads still has more for you to get. I look forward to seeing your finishes!

Love the quilt and all the different hues in there. I bet it would work great with smaller blocks, too. I used that same backing and was super surprised to see the size of the dots when it showed up in the mail. It works great!

So this block is like a "slab' block using 2"srips and then trimming to size?
