Oh Scrap! : Mercyful Progress

I am trying really hard to stay focused on finishing some of my projects.  So when I had some time this weekend, I put all of my Mercyful blocks up on the design wall and started playing with layouts.

I tried quite a few different layouts and decided that I liked this one best.  There are a couple dark blocks I might move out of the center but I think I am ready to start sewing this one up.  I already have a blue and green backing picked out so I am hoping to get this one finished up soon!

What scraps have you played with this week!

*********************************************

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

That's a great idea for the layout! Did you plan the amount of darker and lighter blocks you would need in order to do that? Those are pretty colors, too. Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

I like that swath of lighter diagonally through the middle-ish there. Adds to the overall interest of those lovely blocks.

I'm glad you had a few moments this weekend to get the blocks ready to sew together. It's going to be a beautiful quilt!

That looks like a large top! Such wonderful scrappiness. . .which makes me smile! I like the way you arranged the lighter blocks. . .it's a nice contrast to those darker blocks. It must have been a challenge arranging the blocks!

yes it looks good. I get stuck on the moving blocks around stage... the dotted background fabric makes it all sparkle more

It is always magic when all the blocks get pinned up together. The scrap choice looks great.

Your blocks look great! I have some of those started, but never made more. I need to see if I have enough for a baby quilt.
