Oh Scrap! Snowballs

This week, I finished all 99 snowball blocks for a Many Hands and Many Hearts donation quilt.

I laid the blocks out on the floor and then picked them up and stacked them so I can sew them up into a quilt top sometime in the future. Right now, I am sewing up some Jewel Box blocks so the snowballs have to wait. We have just a few more tops to make and we will be done with the Jewel Box block drive, so that is the priority right now.

It is time to come up with the next scrap quilt for Many Hands and Many Hearts. Someone suggested bow tie blocks - I might just have to see if I have fabrics that inspire me.

What scrappy goodness are you working on?!

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!

Those blocks are so fun together! I love the floral inspiration fabric - is it pansies? Bow ties are a great scrappy block, too! Have a wonderful Sunday, Cyndy!

Wow, you're fast! The blocks look great. I think I've heard this pattern called Cobblestones? That's what it looks like to me, anyway. Pretty, and uses up the scraps!

How fun to see all these snowball blocks ready for a top. What a great pattern to use print fabrics.

What size are your snowball blocks, Cynthia? I love snowballs for scrappy quilts and for creating secondary designs when used as alternate blocks with stars etc. I think I bought an AccuQuilt snowball die during a sale once that I've never used. Seems silly now because snowball is not at all a tricky block to cut and it's probably easier to sew with squares corner to corner that you trim afterwards. Is that how you're piecing yours?

your snowball blocks look terrific. I like seeing them in many color and fabrics, so organized and random also
