Blogger's Quilt Festival - Original Design

Hurray!  With the arrival of fall comes the Blogger's Quilt Festival.  I love this event - especially when it takes place in blogland and not Instagram.  I really enjoy reading the stories about so many amazing quilts all made by very talented quilters. During the event, I always find new blogs to follow and meet some amazing new friends!

Welcome to all of you visiting and I am so happy to be participating again this year!

I decided to include my newest pattern - Bamboo Shoots - in the Original Design category.   This quilt was made using Robert Kaufman's Quilter's Linen in three different colors.
I really liked the fresh green with the tan and the brown.

Before I released the pattern, I did a pattern test using some Kaffe Fassett prints with a rich eggplant background. This one is a more colorful version of a great design - perfect for a beginner or seasoned quilter.

I will be entering another quilt in the scrappy category (of course).  It is the last Scrap-A-Palooza quilt I made using the tumbler shape.  Remember, links to all of my Scrap-A-Palooza quilts are always available if you are looking for inspiration  for using those scraps!

The event will run September 19th through September 31st.  Check out AmysCreativeSide to view all the beautiful quilts linked up. There are lots of categories filled with inspiration!

Here are some links to quilt entries from past events.

Bamboo Shoots Quilt

First, I want to thank many of you for your thoughts on my last post regarding blogs.  Lots of links to favorite sites were shared and I have some great new blogs to follow!
I really appreciate all your support!

Today, I have some really exciting news to share.
I have finally written up a pattern for my Bamboo Shoots quilt!

My initial quilt was made using Robert Kaufman's Quilter's Linen.  I wanted to create a very mid-century or Danish modern feel with nice clean lines.

I really love how the apple green and chocolate brown looked together.
What can I say - I am a child of the seventies!

But you certainly don't need to use solids for this pattern.  Here is one I made using an eggplant marbled background and some Kaffe Fassett florals.
So rich and colorful!

To celebrate, I have marked down all of my patterns temporarily in both my Etsy shop and Payhip Store.  I should mention that because my patterns are now sold in stores, on Tuesday the 6th, I will be increasing their price up to a standard List Price (which is more than I have been selling them for in the past).  So if there is a pattern you have been wanting, this weekend is a great time to pick them up!

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!
I am getting a new fence installed soon so I will be busy cutting back foliage.
Thank goodness for the cooler weather!
