Completely Side Tracked!

This weekend, a dear friend sent me a text to let me know she was bringing me a quilt to have quilted.  Then she asked..."I found some orphan blocks.  Do you want them?"

Well, you can guess what my answers was!

Now I have no reason to adopt more orphan blocks.  I have already outgrown my orphan block suitcase and the second box I created is already over-flowing.  But the temptation of something new to play with was just too strong.

There are quite an assortment of various blocks but the ones that caught my attention were some improv Halloween themed blocks.  These are actually about 5 x 10" and there are quite a few in various states of completion.

So even though I have CIL blocks to sew into tops, lots of other UFOs of my own to finish up and quilts to complete for my next Scrap Mixology pattern release, I am entirely focused on these.

...of course I am.  And I know that is not a surprise to any of you :)

Oh Scrap! : Orange is Always a Good Choice

There is no real reason why I made the scrap blocks I did this week except Orange is always a good choice to sew with!

The main focus this last week was to start sewing all the Covered In Love blocks into some quilt tops so I can start quilting them.  So I used these postage stamp blocks for one of my RSC quilts as a leader/ender project.

I now have a total of 21 blocks completed.  I think that is the halfway point on this project.  As I come across a solid I haven't used in any of the finished blocks, I am just cutting it and sewing up the block.

I hope to finish this quilt this Spring so I can donate it to the Hands2Help quilt drive.

Another Chaser Block Finish

I thought this week I would share another scrap quilt finish I made using my Chaser block pattern.

This version of the pattern uses HSTs and creates a completely different look than previous versions.  I used this quilt to focus on using some of the larger chunks of fabrics in my scrap bin.

It made such a fun rainbow scrap quilt.

Just a reminder of the two previous quilts I made using the same pattern.  Kind of hard to believe that so many different designs can be made with just minor changes to a block.

And I continue to think of more :)

The Chaser block is one of my Scrap Mixology pattern modules.  This module is 15 pages and includes lots of ways to mix this block design up.

It is super simple to make and can be modified to use lots of scrap sizes.

All of my Scrap Mixology pattern downloads are available in both my Etsy shop and my Payhip shop.  I look forward to seeing how they inspire you to use your scraps!
