On this last day of September (Can you believe it?!), I have one more blue block to share with you for my Rainbow Scrap Challenge garden quilt.
When the color blue was announced, the first thing blue I thought of was a morning glory.
Well, it took me all month to figure out how to make something that might pass for those blooms. That is if I tell people what they are supposed to be :)
I thought I had taken photos of some of my early attempts but I guess I was too quick to hide the evidence. They were even too poor for the orphan block stash!
I did toss up all of my blocks to date up on a design wall. I am going to have to make some smaller blocks in future months or this quilt is going to be large enough to literally cover my gardens!
I think next month should be dark green and I already have a few ideas for some fill in blocks. I will save some of my other green blocks for a lighter shade next year.

So maybe you did have to tell us it was a Morning Glory, but after knowing that it is very obvious that that indeed is what it is! I love that you stuck with it until you came up with the exact right design for it. Although I would have loved to see what the test blocks looked like!! This is turning out to be a very fun quilt!!

I saw flowers right away and didn't think about how finicky it must have been to figure out the block. They all look so fun together.

Um, scraps? Stuffing them in a big basket and plowing through them when I think I might need something. I love your Morning Glory blocks. Are you planning on sharing the pattern one day? Just saying!

Love your Morning Glory block! You can tell it's supposed to be flowers, even if you don't quite see morning glories. Your garden quilt is going to be such fun.
