Oh Scrap! : A Bit of Orange

Last week, I spoke to the Ladies of the Lake Quilt Guild in Longview Washington.  I also taught my Two Bits class.  I was so inspired by everyone's blocks, I had to come home and make a few of my own.

I decided to get out my orange scrap bin and work on these four blocks.  The nine-patches came out of my spare parts stash.  I think I might try and make some blocks each week until I have enough for a quilt.  I miss playing with my scraps.

These blocks go together so quickly and burn thru all those scrappy strings.

What scrappy blocks have you been making?

*********************************************

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

Those are seasonal and happy! I bet that was a fun class for everyone. I hope you do get a chance to play in your scrap bins a little more in the coming weeks. Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

Your orange scraps sure turned out four wonderful blocks! I just finished an improv kind of quilt for a young boy. I burned through most of all the scraps. . .nothing left but a few strips!

This is the only time of the year I can sew orange and enjoy it. Love orange scraps and I don't have enough of them! Love your blocks!

I like this idea of using your extra 9patch blocks, makes a nice block and a full quilt would be good to see.
