Upcoming Events in Eugene Oregon

For all of you in the Eugene area, I just want to remind you that the Unbroken Thread annual quilt show hosted by the Pioneer Quilters is coming up soon.  The show will be held from April 5th through the 10th at the Lane County Historical Museum so be sure and mark your calendar.

Now is the time to get in your entry information if you wish to show a quilt.  I am hoping you will be able to see my Pretty Gemstones quilt there. You may have seen it in the January McCall's Quilting magazine and I hope you get the chance to see it in person!.

And on Saturday March 19th, I will be teaching an English Paper Piecing class in Springfield at Our Sewing Room.  You can sign up for the class there or just contact me directly.
It will be a fun afternoon so I hope you can join me!

Which reminds me, I really need to get back to this lovely EPP star block I am currently working on.  There is just not enough time......

Off to sew!

Guest Blogging for McCall's Quilting

About a week ago, I shared that I had a quilt published in the  January/February 2016 issue of McCall's Quilting
The issue is available in store now.

Today I wanted to let you know that I am guest blogging over at McCall's Quilting and sharing a bit about the making of my Pretty Gemstones quilt.

And if you don't yet have a copy of the magazine, follow this link to see where you can purchase the pattern if you want to give this quilt a try.  A huge thanks to McCall's for the invite!

Pretty Gemstones - McCall's Quilting

Today is the day I finally get to share a quilt I have been keeping a secret for a really long time!  It is called Pretty Gemstones and you can find it in the soon to be released January/February 2016 issue of McCall's Quilting.

Quite a few of my favorite scraps went into this quilt.  I love how they look with the Robert Kaufman Essex Yarn Dyed fabric for the background.

This quilt reminds me of a jeweler's display of colored gemstone rings.  So many yummy colors, it is hard to pick a favorite!

If you subscribe to the magazine, you might already have received your copy in your mailbox.  The issue will be available in stores by November 24th - just in time to pick it up while you are out holiday shopping.  It is fun to sew and I hope you give it a try.  I would love to see what you come up with!
