Oh Scrap! - Kaffe Quilt Progress

I have been using my Kaffe Fassett scrap project (my initial post was here) as a Leader/Ender project and I have reached the next step of putting this quilt top together.

I started with these scrap pieces that had been cut to 2.5" x 4.5" and 4.5" squares.

I have been sewing the bits into long strips and placing them up on one of my design walls.  Just using my eye to come up with appealing lengths.  My next step will be to start cutting the background into long sashing strips and wider strips to even out the top and bottom.

This quilt design is one of my Scrap-A-Palooza quilts.
So you can read more about my next step here.

I really like the warm colors in these scraps.

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!

  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

love the bright colors. You do a better job than I of using up scraps. I really do not feel like I have gotten much done recently but I know I have.

Those are bright warm colors - perfect for working on at this time of year! What color will the background be?

You've created a pretty effect by cutting all those KF big bold prints into small-ish rectangles. They all play so well together! Great leader/ender project!

It's always a relief when we can use our scraps! I like the idea of sashing and adding strips on the top and bottom of the rows. It's going to be wonderful!

It always amazes me how the colors can pull very different scraps together and make it look planned. Love the colors. Looking forward to seeing what background color you pick to go with these strips.

Excellent scrappy goodness, especially with all the KF scraps, I think I may have enough of his and PJ scraps to make one of these - or hundreds!!!!
