Oh Scrap! : Springtime Green

I am certainly enjoying spring - both outside and in my sewing room.  The RSC color for March is green and I finished quite a few blocks this week.  Yay!

I added a few more postage stamp blocks to the stack...

I gave them a quick count - hoping I was almost finished with them.  But I only have 26 completed out of a needed 42 blocks.  I am going to have to do another "solids" search so I can finish a bunch more blocks.

I completed my four Well Suited blocks in green for one of my 2021 Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilts.

Here are the first three month's worth of blocks up on the wall.  I am not sure on what block layout I will go with.  As my Well Suited pattern shows, there are lots of options!

As I make the flying geese for my blocks, I am immediately turning the bonus triangles into pinwheels.  I am adding the blocks to some blue pinwheels I made when I made this all blue Scrap  Mixology quilt.

Here are all the completed blocks to date squished together up on my design wall.  I will probably add a sashing of some sort between the blocks.  I just haven't figured out yet what that will look like.

I think I still have at least two more RSC block designs to finish for March.  Which is great, because I still have a ton of green scraps left!

Happy Scrappy Sunday!

Quilting is more fun than Housework

I also wanted to remind all of you that Spring also brings the Quilty Orphan Adoption Event.  I will be posting the link up on this Thursday the 18th.  So dig through your sewing room to see if there is an older UFO you want to adopt out.  It is an easy way to get it off your list!

You can read more about the last event here - which will give you an idea of how the event goes.  .
I already have my abandoned project picked out!

*********************************************

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

Those Well Suited blocks look great in all the colors! You're so smart to sew up the bonus HSTs into the pinwheels right away, too. Have a great Sunday! 18 inches of snow here and more falling, so it will be an indoor day for me.

So many pretty blocks. I especially love the Well Suited blocks and may have to keep those on my radar for more RSC blocks in the future.

Your postage stamp blocks look awesome, Cynthia as do your pinwheels. I have been working on vintage quilt that has postage stamp blocks.I thought of it when I saw your lovely blocks. Have a wonderful week and thank you for hosting the link party.

What a great bunch of blocks -- the greens fit right in with the previous colors. I need to get going on my greens!

The Well Suited blocks will make a very interesting, pretty quilt. Love the pattern and the fact that you're sewing up A LOT of green.
