I have been sewing away on my Kaffe Fassett scrappy blocks all week. Once I figured out how many blocks I needed, I cut enough center squares and just chain pieced away. Once I ran out of squares, I put them back up on the design wall.
I am happy to say I counted right!
Now I need to decided on a background color to set the blocks in. I am pretty sure I am going to use a skinny sashing between all the blocks to break up the colors a bit. These blocks are 8.5" so with the sashing, it will be a nice sized lap quilt.
And for giggles, this is the usual condition of the area around my sewing machine.
It is my happy place :)

beautiful blocks and funny but my sewing area looks the same...LOL
Now I can just picture you chain piecing away with your favorite Kaffe scraps to make all those pretty blocks! What size do you have to cut the squares that will make the background triangles? I know there must be a "formula" but have never made a quilt set that way so it would be good to know how!
Beautiful Kaffe Fassett scrappy blocks! And I love your sewing area, mine is sometimes like this too ;)
What a striking quilt that will be. I agree, sashing will help divide the display.
My happy place looks a lot like your happy place, only not quite so Kaffe-y!
And I'm really loving that luscious Kaffe-y quilt you're building!
Awesome blocks - so full of color!! and perfect for spring time!!
I'm interested in seeing how you choose to proceed. Congratulations on your ability to count! :P
You always have something gorgeous to show us on your design wall.
I love seeing all of your scrappy projects. This quilt is going to be so bright and happy.
I always get sort of muddled when I try to put sashing strips between on-point blocks. If you have any tips for that, maybe you could share them? Your Kaffe blocks are delicious! And a messy sewing machine is a happy one :)
Great blocks and good to see someone else saws like me. Lucky me, a friend made me a mug rug with a sewing machine on it that says: 'my happy place'.
A messy room is a sign of genius! And that quilt is certainly coming together well - really like it!
Gosh two fun quilts in a row. Thanks for sharing.
LOL, your space is a whole lot neater than my current mess. I did manage to sweep the floor yesterday but with fabrics from my recent finish and next projects scattered about thats all I could do. Thank you for the linky party. I just purchased this same machine a few weeks ago. I'm struggling with setting setting my Juki aside to use it on my next quilt.
Your happy place looks very therapeutic! Love the bright colors of this project! Wonderful looking fabrics.:)
What a fabulous HAPPY PLACE! The quilt is going to be spectacular too!
Love all this colour!! Great block for the KF scraps.
