Whew!
Look what I just finished with a day to spare!
Yes, I just put the last few stitches on the binding one day before I need this banner for my booth at the Westside Quilter's Quilt show.
I am so pleased I got it done in time!

This week there was a lot of activity in my sewing room. I have been busy sewing blocks into quilt tops, sewing up scraps into placemats and cutting fabrics for a few of my scrappy projects.
This included a bunch of pieces for my switchplate quilt.

Click here to enterI am finally feeling like I am making some progress on some of the projects cluttering up my sewing room. It is such a good feeling!
Today I am sharing another Scrap Mixology quilt using the Bloom pattern. This block is a variation of a basket block that is uniquely laid out to create this wonderful design.
This layout is featured in the pattern. When I released the pattern, I thought I could go without making a sample of this design, but I just kept thinking how cool it would look in these colors. So, I finally just had to scratch that itch and put one together. I am so glad I did!
I played around with the quilting a bit. Most of it is covered in swirls. But I did put a big floppy feather that runs through the diamond in the middle of the quilt.
I found the perfect backing for it in my stash. Not only were the colors perfect, but I had exactly enough to make it work. I love it when that happens!
Another Sunday and I don't have too much to share.
I wanted to sew up a quilt top this weekend, so I put all of my Scrap Mixology Chaser blocks up on the design wall. I thought I only had two more blocks to sew up. I was really disappointed to see that I need 10 more.
At first I thought I had a small stack of blocks somewhere but I did dig around in my sewing room and did not see them. So this top will just have to wait.
I did sew up some other blocks into a top and it is already loaded on my longarm so I hope to share it on Friday all finished up. That is the nice thing about working on so many projects at once...there is always something to work on!
I know it is only mid-month, but I have completed a bunch of placemats and I wanted to share them with you.
I added these 15 to my stack and I now have a total of 151 finished. The stack is just under 24" tall.
I need to contact Meals on Wheels in early October to get a firm delivery date on when they want them. I am still hoping for 200 total. So I still might have time to achieve that goal!
Hope everyone has a nice weekend!
Wildfire smoke has been so bad in my area that it is difficult to be outside much.
So that means I have been inside sewing a bit.
Hurray, I finished the last two letters I need for my quilt show booth banner. Which is good because I am the featured quilter at the Westside Quilters Guild show in Hillsboro Oregon the first weekend in October. If you are in the area, I hope you stop in. I will be giving free talks on scrap management each morning. You can read more about it on their website.
I also finished the last eight Bloom blocks I need for my Scrap Mixology quilt.
I put them up on the design wall to finish out the layout I am making. (Yes, this layout is in my Bloom Scrap Mixology pattern.) This is another project I can start sewing together.
I should have lots of finishes to share soon.
I did battle the smoke and the heat to finally hang a barn quilt made by a friend on my newly painted shed. (Please ignore the dirty windows and the piled-up wood. It is on my list to deal with.)
Definitely says "a quilter lives here!"

Click here to enterLast December, a friend and I decided to have a UFO challenge in 2022. We chose 12 UFOs and decided that every month we would draw a number and try and finish that project.
I was doing great until June hit and my life got busy.
The June project was to make a quilt to use up more of this neutral fabric stack. Normally I don't put an unstarted quilt on my UFO list. But these fabrics don't fit in my stash very well so I felt making a quilt from these leftovers would be the best option.
Use up as much as I can!
I decided to make these churn dash variation blocks. I am sure they have a name but I don't know what they are called. I just know they were fast and easy to make.
I don't know why I bought so much fabric in these colors. I must have really liked them at one time. I still had quite a bit of fabric leftover but I decided to finally just stick it in the stash.
So June's UFO is finally finished, and I am now moving onto July's. It is my kitchen valiances. I did go out and buy all the hardware so this one should get finished soon too.
Yay for me!
I almost forgot to get this week's Oh Scrap! post written. The exterior of my house was painted this week so there was a lot of activity going on.
This weekend was spent putting back all the things I moved away from the house and making sure everything was finally watered well.
Here is the current condition of my cutting space! In fact, almost all of the flat surfaces in my sewing room look like this. All of those scrap piles are for different projects I am working on..
Slowly they are getting done!
