Most of this last week was spent traveling to events but I did find a bit of time to sew with some leftovers. I decided to put aside the orphan blocks that I had recently put up on my design wall. I posted about it here.
I have been wanting to make a pile of baby quilts so I decided instead to pull some other orphan blocks and make something with them.
This time I pulled out some more strip sets that were leftover from a friend's project.
I dug around my stash and found this older Alexander Henry print that I like with them. I turned them into some large HSTs.
Before I knew it, blocks were going up on the design wall and I was playing with layouts. Not sure if this will be the final design - I still have some time to move them around until I settle on something I really like.
Soon I should have another finished baby quilt to share!
What scrappy things have you worked on this week?

Great orphan blocks use put in a pretty zigzag design.
I love where you are heading with your orphan blocks. Enjoy! ;^)
Have fun deciding on a layout, Cynthia. It's sure to be cute no matter what! I've been working on my soon-to-be-released Project QUILTING 13.5 entry.
Orphan blocks...yes I can't believe in my short quilting life I actually have a little pile of those. Always looking for ways to use them, so far, mug rugs. Your idea is far more imaginative, Cindy.
Good luck with your orphan blocks! I can't seem to think of anything creative to do with all my leftover blocks.
Those are fun! I love what did with the strip triangles and the background fabric. The UFO blocks you finished into the tablerunner turned out so pretty! It's going to find the perfect home soon!
Your orphan blocks look fabulous. Such pretty fabrics that you have paired together. Have a very lovely day and happy quilting.
I'm following along in your baby quilt footsteps - I turned some about-to-be-orphans into a baby quilt this week.
Hi,
Love popping into your place. It always amazes
