Oh Scrap! : Something New

One of the things I have quickly discovered, is that I really need to have at least one scrap quilt going all the time to use all the scraps made from the Many Hands and Many Hearts quilts.  Most of the scraps we end up with are the back trimmings and the odd small bits that get sent to us. Many of these I turn into binding but sometimes, they are just not good candidates for various reasons.

While I was trying to clean up some scraps today, I saw a lot of green, blue and yellow scraps so I decided to start cutting those scraps into 2.5 x 8.5" strips.

I sewed up one block so you can see what I am doing with them.  Really simple block but I hope it will burn through some of these piles around here.

Happy Scrappy Sunday!

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!

  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

Those are some pretty prints! I love the yellow with dots - they look like bubbles! I'm finally going to get my quilt in the mail to you tomorrow. (I wanted to avoid the Christmas craziness!) Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

Burning up the scraps, I love it! Scraps are trying to take over at my house. I just need to sew faster! Great color choices.

Simple can be really effective. Hope the stacks go done a bit before the New Year gets here.

I noticed the same phenomena! I've been using these scraps as leader ender projects!

That's a great plan to try to keep the scraps under control. Mine keep piling up even though I am making scrap quilts all the time -- or so it seems!
