Did you see the news that Preeti (over at Sew Preeti Quilts) is hosting a quilt drive for Mercyful Quilts?
You can certainly join me in the fun!
Preeti is sharing a free block tutorial and has designed up a bunch of different layout options.
I will be using scraps of course. Scraps are always great for donation quilts. And these blocks can easily be made entirely from scraps.
The first step for me was to look for what I call the "seeds" of a quilt. Recently a longarm client gifted me a bunch of gray fabric that was left over from the trimmings of her backing. This will be perfect for use in the background.
Then it was just a matter of choosing a coordinating color for the plus signs (orange). I want to add flip corners to my blocks and I decided to add a bit of turquoise for sparkle.
I am ready to start cutting!
I will share my first blocks once I get them finished.
If you want more information, you can see all of Preeti's posts here.
And if you want to read more about Mercyful quilts, you can do so here. Bernie over at Needle & Foot will be receiving the quilts.

I'm planning to join in with Preeti's QAL, too! I love your orange and gray with turquoise corners plan! I thought of you hen I saw the snowball corners idea. :)
Great plans and beautiful colors. I am planning to join in.
Oooh, this sounds like a good plan. Great colors!!
Sounds so pretty!!!!
Those seeds will sprout a great quilt I'm sure of it. Love the colours. ;^)
I'm going to try to join in, if hot weather doesn't keep me out of my studio (no AC here). Not sure which layout I'll go with, but I'll be doing scrappy, too.
I'm planning on joining the fun too. However, my plans don't always come true even when I try my best.
