I really dislike summer! August is always a difficult month for me and I find myself hot and grumpy most of the time.
So I haven't felt like sewing much...
I did decide to get out some soft teal scraps for the August RSC color. I didn't really feel like making any of my existing RSC blocks so I made a couple basket blocks.
And those did lead to some green and orange basket blocks.
But then I quickly lost interest...
Hopefully next week will be a scrappier week!

Sorry to hear you don't like August. I love August as the temperature, up here, gets cooler. We had a horrible July and August seems to follow the same path; rain, rain, cloudy! Love your baskets. Love the print for the bottom of the basket. It's perfect for some RSC blocks. ;^)
Pretty baskets!!
I'm not into those hot temperatures either! I hope the little cooling trend we are having today gets you out of the grumpy zone! Your aqua baskets are great!
I was feeling grumpy yesterday because of our terribly smoke-filled air, so I will join you! Hope it cools off for you. Your basket blocks look great, I think! What's your favorite way to make the HSTs for them? Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!
I'm hot and grumpy and now the smoke has made breathing difficult. My nose is running and I'm sneezing after letting the dog out...
I wasn't hot the last couple days but I was and am still grumpy too! And didn't really have a desire to work on anything, not like me.
Hi Cynthia, I know exactly how you feel except that it's usually July that is worse for me - but this year, so far, August is just as hot. Hopefully it will pass because my little studio is pretty hot, so there is definitely no FMQ of a huge queen size quilt in the future. Take care of yourself.
Take heart--Autumn is on the way--I don't tolerate heat and humidity either...
Lovely baskets though--hope your "mojo" comes back soon. Hugs, Julierose
Hot and grumpy perfectly describes August everywhere. On the bright side, it has lots of sunshine. Hope your mojo comes back soon!
I see in the forecast that the next heat wave is going to land on Tuesday for no less than 5 days. That gives me permission to leave the garden and play with fabric. This has been a miserably hot summer in the NW. This too shall pass and your mojo will return with the cooler weather.
I'm with you on the hot weather. After a week of decent temperatures, we're going back to the 90's for the next 4 days with a heat index in the upper 90's. We don't have AC, so my summertime sewing is generally limited to those days I get to go sew with friends who have AC. Tomorrow is one of those days. Yeah.

Cynthia, I'm hot and grumpy, too. But you have inspired me with your scrappy baskets! Today is lovely here in So. OR and I'm soaking up the good days and dreading the heat to come next week. LOL Happy quilting!
Your basket quilts are darling, Cynthia. A hot muggy August can make one a big grumpy, but that is ok. Hope you have a wonderful week. Happy quilting and thank you for hosting the link party.
The summer heat really gets to me too. So of course, I moved from Wisconsin to Georgia--go figure! Your basket blocks are very cute. I hope the weather cools off for you soon.
This post cracked me up! Hot & grumpy so let's work on something different. I have to say I really like your scrappy baskets. You should continue making a few more of these, even if the A/C is blasting icy cold air and you're feeling more like yourself again.
