Oh Scrap! : Strings

I have been sharing so many lovely string quilts lately, I lost my self-control and just had to make some blocks myself.

Here are the nine 10.5" blocks I just finished.  I think I have a few more blocks stashed away that were made by myself and others.  They make such wonderful Veteran quilts.  They burn through all those scraps I end up with too.  If you have some RWB scraps you need to find a home for, feel free to make some 10.5" string blocks and we will use them for our donation quilts!

I hope to make more of these blocks this week.

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

Quilting is more fun than Housework

These string blocks are beautiful with all their scrappiness, Cyndy! They'll make a gorgeous quilt. String blocks are the perfect activity for relaxation - just keep sewing! Have a great Sunday!

Beautiful finishes in the past posts here, Cynthia. Inspiring -I am intrigued why I also seem to have so many strings in my scrap bags.

Those RWB string blocks rock! I've been itching to play with strings too. . .my little squirrel keeps calling my attention to them; but, I'm working on some other projects. . . .first!!!!!

I love a string quilt project. I've got some other stuff to send so I"ll try to toss in a few RWB blocks as well.

I like your string blocks! I am holding myself back - I want to make another string quilt so badly! (But I do have a very good memory of the complete mess all over the sewing room last time I made one.)
