I have been procrastinating on a project and I think I need your help to get it finished.
Remember these scrappy zipper blocks I was making? I am not in love with them. I made some poor fabric choices but I am not ready to give up on them. I have decided on a next step, but once again I find myself stuck.
I am hoping you can help.
I want to just break up the chaos of the blocks by putting a solid vertical sashing between the blocks.
I dug through all the solids that have been donated and am ready to share three best colors
First up is this pink. I have to admit this is my least favorite, but it does blend the most.
And finally, there is this vibrant blue. It is bright but maybe that will take the focus off the blocks.
There are not a lot of solid choices in the stash. I tried some neutrals and black but ruled them out quickly. With this layout, I think I only have to make about 5 more blocks (which I think are already cut out), and I can sew it up and call it done.
I want to spend minimal time on this one; so I don't want to sash each block completely.
I am ready to cut my losses and move onto the next quilt.
Feel free to add your favorite in the comments.
I will go with the color that has the most votes!

Do you have any black fabric you could use? Black always brings blah fabrics to life. Happy stitching!
I vote for the green
Blue blue blue
At the start of this project, I was intrigued. The "usual" way of the zipper block is that both sides are from the same fabric. You choose a different path and I was eager to see how it will turn out. Unfortunately, I'm with you. Nothing wrong with the blocks but they don't impress much.
I like the blue the most. Unless you want a little vintage feeling than the green would work. You can eliminate the pink IMHO. Lesson learned, get her done and move on. Life is too short for stalling. Enjoy! ;^)
I know how you feel about those zipper blocks - I kept thinking the same when I made mine. It's very busy! But your idea for a sashing sounds like a good one. I like the blue! Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!
I'd go with the bright blue...go bold!
I vote for pink.
Either the green or the blue. The green brings out the green in the blocks that has it, so it ties the blocks together a bit. The blue is bold and does take the focus off the blocks. Which one do you think will have the best chance of finding another home?
Hmmm. . .well, each of your choices would work. Either the blue or the green. . .finished is always better than being stuck!!!
I vote for the pink. Some little girl will love it! Marci
blue
I think the Blue is the best.
I think that the blocks get lost with the pink and that the blue will work the best with them. (But I really, really thought about it before choosing blue as it seems so obvious that I would pick blue, haha!)
Hmm, I'm thinking the blue, which surprises me because I love 30s green. My biggest issue is that the lime green really calls out. I would suggest leaving out those blocks and maybe putting them on the back. Then I think the rest would look more balanced no matter which of the other colors you choose for the back.
Of these three colors, I think pink looks best.
I like the vibrant blue, but not for strips in between. I would use bright blue for several blocks and that will perk things up. See if you have other bright colors as well. The colors you used already are too muted to make it pop. Try going bolder and just toss in some more color to bring it up to speed.
The blue is a beautiful color but it's too bright and vibrant for the blocks. I think the green works best.
I vote for blue.
I like pink best.
My vote would be blue!
PS. If you only have a few blocks, you could piece them together as part of a backing.
