There have been so many things going on in my quilting life, it has been hard to keep track of them.
I have been consistently working on finishing old UFOs...
I have been trying to keep up with all of my RSC projects...
I am making quilts for the next Scrap Mixology Module....
Placemat project bits are everywhere...
And I have been working on making one of my quilt buyers a stash of small quilt.
Back in mid-March, I shared how I was turning some leftover strip sets into some fun blocks. I pulled a bunch of odds and ends from my stash and scrap bins and sewed them to the corners.
I realized this week, that I have not shared the finish with you!.
Not bad for a bunch of leftovers and unused bits.
I tried to pull my prints from the colors that were found in the strip sets. I also used each of the strip set triangles in the size they were - which gave the blocks an improv look.
I used a purple thread and quilted a simple offset spiral into each block. Easy and quick! Plus it gives lots of interest to those big squares.
I backed it with one of my favorite backing fabrics from Connecting Threads.
I wish they would come out with some more colors.
This quilt measures about 50 x 60 and will be one of the quilts I offer to my quilt buyer. She wants a variety of styles and colors so she can gift or donate them as opportunities arise.
Now I have been digging through my scraps and stash to figure out what will be next!

This is a great way to add some variety to your stash!

I like the improv look very much and I agree with you about the backing fabric! Well done!
I love this one, Cyndy, and I would generally not say I'm drawn to something that features lavendar! Probably what I love the most are those corner triangles that give you the pop of gold every so often. Fun finish!
Love it! You are so inventive!
It's going to be really fun to see what quilts your quilt buyer selects. In the mean time we get the fun of seeing what you pull together to offer her!
What a fabulous idea for the short ends of strip sets. I have a bunch of small triangle cuts that I’ve been wondering what to do with. I’m going to give this a try! Thank you for the inspiration. I really like the richness of colours in your quilt.
You had me at purple!
Your head never stops spinning does it Cynthia!! I need a client like yours that wants quilts, you will have a nice stash for her to pick from.
Quite lovely!
What a fun idea! Love it.
What an interesting way to use up those Crumb-y off-cuts, Cynthia!! You are a constant source of quilty inspiration. Thank you!!
Great idea and it turned out fabulous. Plus using up leftovers is always a nice bonus.
