Yes, you read that title correctly, I am already ready to start my blocks for my 2019 Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilts.
I always seem to finish/start my next quilts earlier each year. I have my ladder block quilt top ready to quilt soon and my bow-tie quilt blocks are all finished and just need to be laid out.
First up is a simple zigzag block made from 2.5" wide scraps. In teal of course for June!
I plan on donating this quilt so I think I will make a total of 20 blocks. Simple and quick!
While making some nine patches for another project, I discovered I got a little crazy cutting out pieces and ended up with a whole bunch of extra cuties (These are just a few of them).
I decided to put them to good use with some teal strings and made these quarter log blocks. They finish at 10" and I think will be perfect for a scrap project.
I also received a bag of scraps and orphan blocks from a friend. After spending a good couple hours sorting, petting, and pairing up bits, I now have at least 4 more quilts in the works.
My creative juices are boiling over!

Hurray for creative juices! Those all look like great scrappy projects for RSC.
I like your new block ideas! The rails look like they work great with 2.5 inch strips. I love the quarter log cabins with the 4 patch in the center - that is a really great idea!
Love the Qwarter Log Blocks!!!!
Your mind works in weird and wonderful ways! And I mean that in a very good way!
Wow, you are productive! Love the pretty quarter log blocks!
I love all your blocks, but oh my goodness gracious me, those quarter log cabins with the checkerboard centers!!! I'm just all a-quiver with an urge to make some, too!
Great blocks! Both look great.
You always come up with great ideas for your fabric creations. That is what inspires us so.
Oh, my! Aren't YOU the overachiever? Best of luck finishing up RSC18 quilts and your plan for RSC19 looks like a keeper!!
You've got a great start on some fun projects for next year.
I like the use of your teals and 4-patches!
I love the idea of using the nine patch as the corner stone. I have a bag of black and white 4 patches that are not quite the right size. I have had them for 4 years and just didn't want to waste the time ripping out the stitches. So this idea is awesome. I can size up with the strips. Thank you for posting them. They are so beautiful.
Adorable teal blocks with the addition of the black/white 9 patch centre.
What a cute way to use 9 patches! I love that idea! Looking forward to the next four creations you've got brewing!
That's an interesting zig zag block. I've never seen that before. Well done on your progress on projects.
What a great idea to use teensy b/w nine patches as the centers for your cabins! They are so cute and will really add sparkle to the overall piece :)
You are really moving forward. I like the 9 patches with the teal. Nice idea. I'm in awe that you are ready for 2019 . . . it's coming faster than we think!
