One of my RSC projects this year is to sew my crumb scraps in the monthly color into placemats.
I have already finished them for the month of January. I knew there were not going to be that many made because I didn't have that many crumbs in red.
Sorry - I forgot to take a phot of the backings.
But I did take a photo of the growing stack. To date there are 29 finished.
I am already looking forward to seeing what the next month's color is. I am really enjoying making these - they are really cleaning out my scrap bins!

Four placemats out of crumb pieces looks great to me! I love how you consolidated all the darks into one. You're getting quite a pile of placemats there!
that is a great way to participate in RSC and not end up with a big unfinished project....beautiful!
Seeing the pile grow is so satisfying! And while you didn't have many crumbs, getting 4 placemats seems like a great quantity to me. :) I hope you have a lovely weekend.
What an awesome stack of placemats, Cynthia!! Glad to hear that you are enjoying the process of making them.
Thanks for the inspiration. I have amassed quite a collection of crumbs. I should consider doing this. Placemats are one of my "to do"s that I never seem to get around to. They are actually listed on my Quilters' Planner with suggested size but I just never get around to it.
You are SO good at cleaning out your scrap bins. And this will be such a nice treat for someone. Come over to my house and help me clean out my bins, please!
I am doing scrappy placemats too in the RSC color of the month. I probably got the idea from you, so thanks for that!!
What a great idea to make placemats from the crumb blocks. Yours are looking great.
That's quite a stack of placemats. So cute!
