Oh Scrap! : More Two Bit Blocks

I had a little bit of time this week to sew so I thought I would get out a bin of scraps and sew up a few more Two Bits blocks.  I thought my yellow bin might be fun to play with.

I made these five Two Bits blocks.  I already had the 9-patches in my parts department so it was just a matter of sewing on the strips.  I was surprised to find that my yellow scrap bin really doesn't have a lot of true yellow scraps.  I have lots of gold, and acid green/yellow.  But I think that is what makes a scrap quilt so much fun!

What have you been sewing with your scraps?

That is my biggest challenge as a scrappy quilter - what to do with the (sometimes) odd shades of a color that don't quite fit in! Your blocks make every color look good. Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

Isn't it nice to play with scraps? For me it's like a vacation. I'm amazed at all you get done. The improv blocks turned into a wonderful quilt, with just the perfect quilting. Nice work!

Very fun blocks! I'm cutting up my scraps today, some bins are getting full enough I need to plan some scrappy quilts for next year.

Those not quite yellow or not quite blue types of color challenges often stymie me. You and other quilters who link up on Sundays provide me with a lot of inspiration to use those scraps. Your two bit blocks are one of my favorite patterns. I'm still quilting my Lone Star. . . but, I'm looking forward to playing with a new scrap project!

Lovely Two Bit blocks. I have a shortage of yellow fabric these days. But I seem to have a lot of scraps but sometimes they are too small. I'm trying to only buy what I need for specific projects so no new yellows for the time being.

Yes, love playing with scraps. I've got a lot of scraps but yellow and purple don't seem to collect very much. Seems to be greens and browns?
Thanks for hosting. Love to see everyone's ideas.

The variety of yellow-ish adds such snap to the blocks!
