Oh Scrap! : Red

My scrap bins are all overflowing - I mean it is a real problem.  So I am finding myself piling scraps in places they don't belong because they will no longer fir in their storage space.

So, this week I got serious and started cutting up some scraps.  I started with the red bin and pulled out any scrap that was big enough to get a 4.5" square out of it.  I cut for hours!

Even after cutting this 7" high stack of squares, you can see my scrap bin still looks full.
At least it is no longer overflowing!

Maybe I will get through another color this week....

It is now your turn to share what you are making with scraps.  Here are the details for linking up:

  • This linky party is for any scrappy project - It can be in-process or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features your use of scraps.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. So if you are writing about scraps, just get into the habit of including a link as there will be a linky party available every week!
  • If you are using Instagram, please use the hashtag #ohscrap.
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

Look at that gorgeous pile of red squares! Does this mean you're going to make a red and (?) quilt? It will be so pretty! Have a great Sunday, Cyndy!

Seven inches tall!!! Wowzer! That's a LOT of fabric! It's a good thing you have an Accuquilt cutter. And now what? Will be an all red quilt or will you get other colours involved? You know I'll be following this project. Have fun! ;^)

Ooh, that's a nice stack of squares! Isn't that a satisfying feeling? I'm sure you'll think of something great to make with them. Thanks for Oh Scrap every week!

Oh my, I know what you mean. I plan a scrappy quilt thinking it will use up a lot, and it barely makes a dent. I cut scraps for hours too, and they just seem to multiply and replenish the earth overnight. You are much more prolific in your output than I am, don't be too hard on yourself.

Keeping the scraps within the confines of their bins is no small task. Hope this week is easier on that front.

It's crazy how sometimes, a huge stack of squares seem to barely make a dent in the amount remaining in the container! I look forward to seeing what these scraps become!

Hi Cynthia, that is some serious cutting work but it'll make life so much easier. Have a good week.
